In the past few days, Homeland Security has warned shopping malls in the United States to be on alert after a Somali militant group released a video calling for attacks on American shopping centers. While the threat of terrorism is real and needs to be taken seriously, malls also need to address other security concerns that are much more likely to occur than a terrorist attack.
Mall security frequently has to deal with incidents such as fights, suspicious customers and the occasional brawl between groups of teens. Take for example NorthPark Mall in Davenport, Iowa where a large fight broke out during the holidays. Records show police officers were called to the mall 200 times just in the last quarter of 2014 and had to respond to 17 different disturbances.
It's time for business leaders, security professionals and elected leaders to consider new options to keep the public safe. While the debate always seems to center on security guards being armed or unarmed, Scottsdale, Arizona-based Guardian 8 is making security better with an intermediate solution that addresses the concerns of the world we live in today.
We created the Pro V2 non-lethal defense device, which provides layered defense for security professionals. To learn more about how the Guardian 8 Pro V2 operates, view this short video.
One of the most important features of the Pro V2 is that when activated, the device provides both an audio and video recording of the incident. There’s no speculation about what may have happened. It also impacts the bottom line, as it helps eliminate the risk of fraudulent litigation from use of force claims.
The Pro V2 is perfect for hospitals, school campuses, sporting arenas and more. It's a high tech defense tool designed for the 21st century. As you look for ways to protect the public and improve safety, I encourage you to look at the benefits of the Pro V2. We would be happy to answer your questions or schedule a private demonstration.
